Once these things have been agreed upon you will be granted a Decree of Divorce. While this may sound like a simple process, it can often take months for divorcing spouses to reach a final agreement on said points.
In the event that you and your spouse cannot settle your divorce, outside of court, you will have to go to trial. This is generally more costly and emotionally draining but is often necessary in the case of domestic violence, adultery or other emotionally charged issues.
