Vanita Aphan-Kirkland

Bio
Vanita is adept in family law. She grew up in Toronto, Canada, where she attended High School and College. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Paralegal Studies and worked for the Crown Attorney’s Office in Ontario for several years. In 2012, she attended law school in Arizona, where she obtained her Juris Doctor in 2015. She was a staff editor for the Law Review and participated in several clinics, including clinics dedicated to assisting the homeless population in Phoenix and the Pima-Maricopa Indian community. Vanita is licensed to practice law in both the great State of Texas and Washington State.
After law school, Vanita and her husband moved to Texas, where she obtained her Master's in Taxation (LL.M.) from SMU in 2017. Vanita has litigated family law cases in the District Courts throughout the Dallas Metroplex, as well as the Fifth Court of Appeals, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, and the Supreme Court of Texas.
Growing up with a diverse background, Vanita has always been a dedicated advocate for indigent individuals, which was personified by her actions over the last seven years with TMWF, a non-profit organization, committed to assisting domestically abused individuals in family law matters. She brings that same commitment and experience to Burrows Law Group to help clients navigate the legal system, which tends to be both an intimidating and stressful time in a person’s life.
Vanita lives in the Dallas-Metroplex with her husband and two sons. She enjoys travelling, watching Japanese anime, and documentaries on ancient civilizations.
